Anyone that is on Instagram must have come across the Anne’s Oil hair products. Its has been talked about by numerous influencers.
As you all are aware, that most influencers are sent products as “gifts” for them to rave about on their platforms. In result they may not show their honest and true opinions. Therefore I don’t always buy into their advice and recommendations.
This particular brand, I avoided buying as I assumed the hype was not genuine as it was heavily promoted by big influencers. I only gave it any attention when my cousin tried and tested and highly recommended it to me because I was struggling with major hair loss after the birth of my son.
So eventually I caved in and bought the shampoo, conditioner and the night-time hair oil.
Here is what I thought about it.
Lets start with the Night Time oil. Firstly I don’t know the difference between the Night and Day oil. I assume they are very much the same. The reason why I choose the Night oil is purely so I can sleep on it and wash it off first thing the next morning, I hate walking around with greasy hair throughout the day.
Each bottle is 100ml for £16. If you buy two or more, there is a small discount.
Anne’s oil recommends that you use the oil at least 3 times a week to see results. That is exactly what I did.
At first the oil didn’t feel great on my hair, but you get use to it after a few wears. Washing it off is not easy. I had to shampoo my hair twice and the condition to fully wash it off.
Now I wasn’t expecting any overnight miracle, but within the first two weeks, there was a huge reduction of my hair falling out and in 4-6 weeks I did notice new baby hair had grown on my forehead. I never had baby hair before in my life and was super shocked and excited when I saw it. At first I was thinking was this due to the oil? As time went on, more baby hair grew and the previous one started to grow longer. It was very noticeable. It has now been three months and the results is amazing. No hair oil has ever helped thicken my hair. This one actually lives up to its name.
Since my first purchase, I have now bought another two bottles and only a quarter way through my second bottle. So I would say one bottle lasted me roughly around two months.
Onto the Shampoo and conditioner
I was sold into buying the Oud scented shampoo and conditioner by Modest Street on Instagram. She hyped it up big and she was right. The smell is amazing. it is sulphate free, I didn’t take much notice of this until after using it.
For both the shampoo and conditioner 500ml each was £45. Anne’s oil mentioned this should last up to 6 weeks, but I have just gone past the half way point three months of using.
When I first applied the shampoo on my hair, I hated it. It was really rough and it didn’t smell like Oud. I remember thinking in the shower this is going to make my hair fall out even more. But I convinced myself to power through as I spent a lot of money to get it. So I then moved onto conditioner. The conditioner is where the magic happens. The smell is amazing, applying it was silky smooth. You only need a small amount to get all areas. I never put conditioner on my scalp. I try to keep it away from my roots and just focus on the hair.
With a combination of Shampoo and Conditioner, I got positive results. My hair has never been smoother or silkier and smelt so great. Again hair fall outs reduced massively and I can honestly say this has really helped strengthen my hair. I do feel like it is fuller and thicker and I still seeing new baby hair growing. I don’t know what it is that has improved the quality of my hair, maybe its “sulphate free” that makes it different from all other shampoo and conditioning products. Whatever it is does work.
The only negative thing I can say, is that after using it for two months straight, my hair started to feel greasy and not as fresh as when I first started using it. I took a few weeks break from the shampoo and conditioner and now started again and feel and looks great again. So every now and then I switch back to my old products and then come back to Anne’s shampoo and conditioner.
Overall, I am very satisfied with all the products. My hair loss has reduced, new hair has grown, it looks and smells great. All in all, it does what it says on the bottle. I would repurchase it and have recommended it to my family.
